(AWI) is heading to “wire” with its large range of high performance nickel alloys, all offering different properties for performing in different temperatures and corrosive liquids/gases.

Demand for the company’s products in alloys, such as Inconel, Hastelloy, Monel, Nimonic, Phynox (UNS R30003) and MP35N, has reached new heights over the last twelve months and the first four weeks of this year show a similar appetite from clients. The UK-based firm, which has extended its customers to over 55 countries, is looking to showcase its products to spring makers and manufacturers supporting the aerospace, marine, motorsport, nuclear, oil+gas and petrochemical sectors, all of whom require high quality and reliable delivery. AWI’s campaign – “Certainty in an Uncertain World” – will be promoted at the exhibition in Germany and highlight its ability to “manufacture to order” in just three weeks and its huge stock range that now exceeds 200t of more than 60 different exotic alloys.

A ten-strong team will be on AWI’s largest ever stand in Dusseldorf to talk through technical requirements, material application and to help solve potential manufacturing situations around the need for corrosion resistant and high temperature performing wire. “wire 2020 is the biggest show for our sector and once again we have upped our presence by investing in the size of the stand, the unique design and the amount of knowledge we will have available,” commented Angus Hogarth, Sales Director at Alloy Wire International. “One of our largest and most widespread markets globally is the spring manufacturing industry. They produce compression springs, tensions springs, torsion spring and formed parts from our material to perform in critically demanding places like aircraft engines, nuclear installations and deep down oil wells – where other wire fails to perform.”

He continued: “We understand exactly what the spring maker needs and supply exactly how they want it, whether that is wire in coils with soap coating or clean on spools, we guarantee consistency in temper and a dead cast. There is even the option of straight bars. What we do really well is that we can produce any wire size between 21mm to 0.025mm to close tolerances. There has also been a lot of demand for wire that is certified to an increasing number of specifications or produced to the customer’s own special material properties.” Alloy Wire International has held the AS9100 Aerospace quality accreditation for over five years, which is complemented with ISO 45001(Health+Safety), ISO 14001(Environmental) and ISO 9001(Quality) standards. All of its 60 different high performance alloys are DFARS and EU compliant and can be supplied in quantities from 3m to 3t.
