In the industry, longevity is not achieved by standing still. It is built through the ability to evolve with changing technologies, customer needs, and market demands, while remaining true to core capabilities. The world we live in today is in constant transformation and one of the biggest shift -electrification – has significant impact on Suzuki Garphyttan.

Innovation through evolution

Throughout our 120-year history, innovation has taken many forms. Some developments have led to entirely new products and applications. Others have strengthened existing capabilities and opened doors to future opportunities. Transformation is not a new concept for Suzuki Garphyttan – it is part of the DNA. Today, the company is entering a new phase of growth by revisiting areas of expertise that have been part of history, for example cold drawn and stainless wire products. Over the years, the company has explored a wide range of wire solutions and applications, including the two mentioned above. While these capabilities showed promise, strategic priorities ultimately led in another direction. As the automotive industry grew and performance requirements increased, focus and resources were mobilized where they could create the greatest value. The decision that shaped Suzuki Garphyttan into the company it is today.

Building expertise over decades

For decades, Suzuki Garphyttan has been a trusted partner to the automotive industry, supplying advanced wire solutions for some of the world's most demanding applications.

The automotive sector requires more than high-quality materials. It demands consistent performance, tight tolerance, advanced process control, reliable global supply chains, and a deep understanding of how materials behave throughout the entire manufacturing process.

The focus on automotive enabled the company to build strong capabilities in metallurgy, wire processing, heat treatment, and application engineering. These capabilities now form the foundation for our next chapter.

Why diversification matters today

The world is undergoing significant transformation. Electrification, changing supply chains, increased focus on resilience, and evolving customer requirements are reshaping industrial markets. Across industries, manufacturers are seeking material solutions that improve performance, enhance corrosion resistance, extend service life, and support more efficient production. For Suzuki Garphyttan, these developments create an opportunity to apply decades of expertise to a broader range of applications. Our diversification strategy is a deliberate step forward, built on proven capabilities rather than entirely new directions.

Revisiting proven capabilities

As part of this strategy, Suzuki Garphyttan is expanding the focus on stainless and cold drawn wire solutions, including product families such as GARBA, DUPLEX, and Bright. These products support demanding applications across industries including medical technology, agriculture, manufacturing, and textiles, where material performance, consistency, and reliability are critical. Suzuki Garphyttan has a foundation build of decades of experience in demanding automotive applications, which have strengthened the understanding of material behavior, process stability, and application performance. This expertise supports customers facing increasingly complex requirements across a broader range of industries. The commitment to the automotive sector remains unchanged. Diversification complements the existing business – it does not replace it.

Innovation often begins with a customer challenge

A component may need improved corrosion resistance. Manufacturing efficiency may need to increase. Weight may need to be reduced without compromising performance. A new application may require a different combination of material properties. These challenges demand more than a standard product offering, they require collaboration. By working together and listening to customers Suzuki Garphyttan combines customer application knowledge with over a century of expertise in materials, processing, and wire performance. Sometimes it is important to recognize that you can run faster alone, but you can come much further if you run together. After 120 years, one principle continues to be the guiding star: progress is built on both innovation and experience. Sometimes innovation means developing entirely new solutions. Sometimes it means recognizing the renewed potential of ideas that were ahead of their time. By building on the expertise, partnerships and technical capabilities developed over decades, Suzuki Garphyttan is well positioned to support the evolving needs of the industry, today and in the future.

Staying close to our customers in an uncertain world

For Suzuki Garphyttan, being close to the customer is not just a principle – it’s a strategy. With operations across several regions worldwide, it has become clear that each market comes with its own regulations, conditions, and demands. By ensuring that the products are adapted to local requirements and supported by teams with in-depth market knowledge, it is possible to create solutions that are both relevant and reliable. Regulations around sustainability and trade tariffs are making the supply chain more complex, Suzuki Garphyttan is well equipped, both geographically and with the competence needed to be a reliable partner in a world where uncertainty is constant.
