Why stranded wire is preferred over the solid version

Stranded Copper wires are definitely the most preferred choice of metal make. No other metal is equipped with so many properties which are conducive for making wires used for electrical purposes. Copper is known for its moderate conductivity which helps in transferring electricity with low voltage.
