A success story “Made in Germany”

This year, August Strecker GmbH+Co. KG celebrates its 90th anniversary: since 1933, the family-run company has stood for outstanding quality and innovative technology. Already in the founding year, the first patent was filed, thus laying the foundation for the company's success. In the following years, the production program was constantly expanded and the sales markets enlarged.

The wide-ranging production program includes welding machines for the most diverse applications in the wire and cable industry. Wires with diameters as small as 0.04mm are welded for the electronics industry. But Strecker can also supply the right welding machine for big solid wires up to 60 mm in diameter.

In its anniversary year 2023, Strecker will again present new products: the soldering gun type “LP10” addresses manufacturers of high-voltage transformers, and producers of submarine cables can now connect conductor cables up to a cross-section of 3,500mm², i.e. Ø 67mm diameter, with type “MK1200-FPC”.

The company's circle of customers includes globally operating, well-known groups such as the tire manufacturer Michelin, cable producers such as Nexans or Prysmian, Siemens as an electrical and power engineering manufacturer, or car manufacturers such as BMW or Volkswagen.

Strecker exports to more than 110 countries around the world. All 5 continents are equally represented, with around 60% of production remaining in Europe. Participation in many national as well as international trade fairs make the “Strecker” brand increasingly well known worldwide. In addition, there is a network of more than 40 foreign representatives supporting sales and ensuring close customer contact.

Today, Strecker does not only manufacture welding machines. The scope of supplies also includes technical consultancy prior and after purchase, commissioning and personnel training at worldwide locations, or support in solving complex tasks related to welding and process optimisation. With modern communications technology, many issues can be resolved promptly and cost-effectively via remote maintenance, often eliminating the need for an expensive on-site visit by a service engineer. Customers with time-critical production prefer to book service packages with Strecker to ensure fast and reliable support almost around the clock every day of the week

The company is actively committed to environmental protection and already produces in a climate-neutral and sustainable manner. The company vehicle fleet is gradually being converted to e-mobility and employees are being motivated and encouraged to make the switch.

For almost 60 years, the managing director Rainer Stock shaped the development and growth of the company with his experience and technological competence. Since his death in the fall of 2022, his son Michael Stock has been managing the family business, supported by the authorized signatories Sigrun Möbus, Uwe Hastrich and Kim Schmitt.

On the occasion of the company's 90th anniversary, Stock expressly thanks for the performance and the contribution of all employees, who are the basis of success, and says: "Together we can be proud of what we have achieved. We draw motivation from this for continuous progress in the future. Strecker connects!”
