“DMS-M” drawing die measuring system
OEG GmbH Germany has been known as a manufacturer of drawing die geometry measuring devices for many years. Recently, customers have been asking for a measuring device that can only measure diameter and roundness, but do so very quickly and with high accuracy.

OEG GmbH meets this request by downsizing the high-end “DGMS” device so that several price-intensive components can be omitted. As a result, a device is available that is very price competitive and still allows extremely accurate measurement of the diameter of wire drawing dies and optional shaped dies and wires. The “DMS-M” is equipped with one measuring lens, with a choice of 5 lenses depending on the drawing die diameter range, that has to be measured. The measuring range of the lenses extends from 0.015 micron to 15mm. Depending on the lens, a measurement accuracy of <1 micron to <3 micron is achieved.
The “DMS-M” is equipped with a motorised, software-controlled focus stage. The image processing system allows an extremely fast autofocus movement, so that the measuring time results to about 5 seconds. The software allows the creation of measurement protocols and the export of the measured values to an Excel table.
