Preparing for „wire Russia“ 2021 in Moscow, the company did some research on the current situation on the Russian market and used reliable several market analyses revealing signs of stabilization there. Niehoff and Niehoff of Russia, its Moscow-based sales and service branch, exhibited a double twist bunching machine type “D 632” on the trade fair. Enabling energy and material-efficient production, this machine is ideally suited for processing wires into strands and helps reduce operational costs.

Niehoff uses the opportunity to introduce two of its customers in the Russian-speaking markets in the current issue of the magazine: the cable manufacturers SpetsKabel and Energokomplekt. Artem Andreevich Kosilov, a senior engineer-technologist at SpetsKabel, talks in an interview about the success strategy of his company, while Energokomplekt, one of the five largest cable manufacturers in the CIS countries, is introduced in a company portrait.

Not only for these companies, but for all customers worldwide, remote services and the Niehoff “Digital Assistant+” are gaining more and more importance. Consequently, from the beginning of April 2021 onwards, all new Niehoff machines to be delivered to Europe are equipped with the Niehoff “Digital Assistant+Basic Module”. Niehoff´s service range also includes interesting machine overhauls, that´s why one of the articles shows the current example of a multiwire drawing machine type “MMH 101” with 80,000 operating hours.

To present the readers one of its new machines, in this issue Niehoff reveals some important facts about its rod breakdown machine type “MSM 86” combined with the new continuous resistance annealer type “R 562”. This combination is ideal for the production of single wires with thicker diameters increasingly demanded for power cables with larger cross-sections.

All over the world, a major focus is on energy and resource efficiency and, simultaneously, on sustainability. Niehoff has been dealing with the practical implementation of these requirements for a long time and now uses its experience to support the “Blue Competence” sustainability initiative of the German Engineering Federation VDMA. Sustainability will also be an important topic in the lectures of the next “NE Drahtforum”.
