On the one hand, the journal has given us the opportunity to inform our customers and users about the development of our company – whether as Spirka Maschinenbau GmbH, Schnellflechter Berlin GmbH, Wardwell Europe GmbH or, today, Spirka-Schnellflechter GmbH, operating under the umbrella of the Wilms Group. It has enabled us to report on current developments within the company, changes in personnel and organisational structure, our product range, and further developments and innovations.

On the other hand, the trade journal has enabled us to stay informed about developments in the cable and wire industry, trends in product development, new requirements and the competitive landscape. This has allowed us to keep a close eye on developments at all times, always acting in the interests of our customers and in keeping with the motto: “Competition drives progress.”

We have always greatly appreciated WIRE’s technical expertise and its close relationship with manufacturers. Regular meetings and exchanges of experience and opinions have taken place at wire-industry trade fairs, where we have consistently encountered highly competent discussion partners.

Over the past 75 years, the cable and wire machinery manufacturing industry has continued to evolve and has followed the changing demands of the market.

Regardless of the name under which our company has operated or the ownership structure in place at any given time, we have always sought to meet these trends and the changing requirements for braiding machines, spiralising machines and coiling machines. Throughout all these years, we have regarded the trade journal WIRE as a valuable partner – both as a means of informing our customers and as an opportunity to gain insight into the market and the competition.

In the past, braiding machines with change gears for setting the pitch were predominant. Today, machines with motorised haul-offs and infinitely variable braid-pitch adjustment are the norm.

Whereas manual or semi-automatic coiling machines dominated the market years ago, fully automatic coiling machines are now in demand, extending all the way to highly efficient splitting lines.

The requirements placed on control, regulation and monitoring systems, as well as on data transmission and retrieval and online service, have increased significantly. We, too, have had to respond to these new requirements.

On all these topics, the trade journal has always been an excellent medium for keeping our customers informed.

We wish the trade journal another 75 successful years and look forward to continuing our good cooperation and valued partnership.
