IBG NDT Technology now offers new “AI ready” test data export functions for its proven testing instruments, eddyvisor and eddyliner. In the fields of material structure and crack testing, thus setting new standards in flexibility of data analysis. An important component for subsequent AI processing and evaluation.

Material Structure Testing: Expanded data export options

For material structure testing based on the physics of eddy current, raw data of all test frequencies and harmonics can be exported as x-/y-pairs in Excel or .CSV format. These unprocessed data provide a basis that can be used for further comprehensive analyses, including AI Deep Learning Methods. Additionally, evaluated test data as so called separation figures can be exported in the same format, allowing for direct comparison of results.

Crack Testing/iORS: Precision through raw data and evaluated results

In the field of eddy current crack testing and iORS Optical Reflection, the export of raw test data as x-/y-sample data, complemented by trigger or way points, in WAV format is now implemented. These data can be exported either unfiltered or already band-pass filtered to meet specific analysis needs. Furthermore, the export of evaluated test results is available, which are output as band-pass based separation numbers along with trigger and way points in WAV format. The use of evaluated results in the integrated C-Scan of the crack test instruments eddyvisor and eddyliner enables precise quality assessment.

Significance of raw data

Unprocessed raw data have the advantage of presenting absolute signal values that have not already been assessed in relation to reference data or tolerance fields. In contrast, evaluated data have been assessed in relation to tolerance fields, thus providing a measure of quality – “how good” or “how bad”. This differentiated data evaluation allows for in-depth analysis and quality control.

Versatile evaluation possibilities for exported data

The exported test data offer the possibility to perform external analyses with specific algorithms on the customer side, including artificial intelligence, image processing, filtering, correlation, and statistical evaluations. This flexibility in data analysis opens up new avenues in quality assurance and optimization of production processes.
