Italian producer of iron wire
Founded in 1956 by Mario Bottaro, Bottaro Mario S.r.l. is a family-run company with a strong international imprint, specializing in the production of iron wire for packaging presses, for the hot-dip galvanizing process, for agriculture, industry and construction.
The company's activity is distinguished by the quality of the selected raw materials (only wire rods from the most important European steel mills), investments in research that have led to the development of innovative products with the certified trademark, fully robotized production plants, the use of clean energy and environmentally friendly materials for a sustainable, ISO:9001-certified production process.
Carried on by the founder's sons, Marco and Alberto Bottaro, the company is now present in more than 50 countries worldwide. Thanks to the superior quality of its products and the range of services it offers, it is the reference point in the wire industry.
Products
Bottaro brand products come from a supply chain that the company defines as “green” because it is organized on the principle of energy saving, the use of recycled and recyclable materials and the use of substances and processes that are not harmful to operators, the environment or man.
In the words of the Chairman, Alberto Bottaro: "We have decided to invest in a conscious business, based on certain cornerstones that are no longer negotiable: green, ecological products and a controlled supply chain".
The company's flagship products are: “BWR” baling wire for the recycling sector, “BWG” wire for hot-dip galvanizing, “BWA” wire for agriculture, “BWC” wire for construction industry and “BWB” wire for industrial applications.
“BWR” the green wire par excellence
For the recycling sector, Bottaro has created BWR Bottaro Wire Recycling, the only wire compatible with all types of presses and with superior performance. The BWR technology has made it possible to produce a much more malleable wire with the same strength, with an accurate surface cleaning that promotes trouble-free unwinding. In addition, the diameter has been reduced by 10% compared to traditional wires to allow a higher metric development and to bind almost twice as many bales with the same amount of material.
These features allow the recycling plant to have a greater quantity of wire, reduce maintenance work on baler gears and save electricity due to less friction in the wire. Technical studies carried out in cooperation with several recycling plants have shown that BWR Plus wire has enabled them to achieve savings of up to 40%.
BWR is available in different formats depending on the use: for horizontal presses (skeins, conical coils, continuous press coils), for vertical presses (BWR Eyelet Bars, BWR Zinc+ Eyelet Bars, High Strength Quick-Link Bars), for Double RAM presses (BWR Galva HT – Galvanized Hi-Tensile).
“BWG”: plant safety and zinc savings
Developed in collaboration with the Marche Polytechnic University and the most important associations in the sector – including the American Galvanizers Association and Galvazinc – BWG Bottaro Wire Galvanizing is the wire dedicated to the hot-dip galvanizing sector characterized by low zinc absorption.
BWG iron wire has great malleability and strength to facilitate the operations of tying the pieces to be galvanized – avoiding excessive strain, wrist injuries and trauma from manual tying –and to eliminate the risk of breakage during galvanizing, thus increasing the general safety of the plant.
The numerous studies carried out by the Bottaro laboratories have led to the development of a wire with a larger diameter, although very malleable, in order to bind items with less wire. Less wire used means less zinc absorbed, therefore an important saving of raw material. BWG is available in skeins and cut-to-length bars.
“BWA”: the galvanized wire for agriculture
BWA is a galvanized wire with unique mechanical characteristics intended for the production of trellises and counter-trellises for the various forms of cultivation in vineyards and orchards, for awnings, roofs and pergolas. Robotized production guarantees a uniform and controlled zinc coating, accurate surface cleaning, absence of porosity and maximum workability.
To ensure maximum performance according to use, BWA is divided into three types: commercial galvanized wire for vineyards with traditional harvesting; triple galvanized wire “Zinc Plus” and galvanized wire with zinc aluminium protection “Galva Alu” ideal for vineyards and orchards with mechanical harvesting and for the construction of support structures (from trellises to roofs).
“BWC”: the specific wire for the construction field
BWC wire “Bottaro Wire Construction” – is the white annealed wire used in different fields such as construction, industry and for private use. Thanks to the controlled annealing cycle with specific wire sensor, it is soft and easy to work with while maintaining an extremely high level of resistance.
These features make it the perfect product for the daily job of workers and craftsmen, who, thanks to the particular malleability of the wire, do not risk problems with joints and tendons. BWC is available in Spool format (weighs only 330g and is held in one hand) and 500kg spools.
“BWB”: the ecological wire for industrial applications
For the industrial field Bottaro proposes BWB – Bottaro Wire Bright – the ecological and high quality wire mainly used for the production of chains, grids, nails, furniture, cages and trolleys. The bright BWB wire is produced by a mechanical (and not chemical) pickling process that is totally ecological and non-polluting. This production process guarantees an accurate surface cleaning of the wire, the absence of porosity, maximum workability on all systems and constant tensile strength. This product is available in spools of thick wire (from 1,80mm to 8,00mm) and in spools of thin wire (from 0.80mm to 1.70mm).
Quality and logistics
Bottaro's quality is also evident in the complementary services offered to the product: a multilingual sales team, an efficient and flexible accounting department, three research and analysis laboratories capable of carrying out continuous studies on the wire and supporting the customer in the phase of choosing the most suitable wire.
The flagship of the company's services is its logistics system. A complex structure that guarantees efficiency, speed and security. Bottaro products travel to more than 50 countries around the world every day, without being damaged because they are stored and protected by quality packaging designed to maintain the physical and mechanical properties of the wire. In addition, Bottaro monitors all stages of logistics, thanks to its innovative tracking system, and ensures safe transport. Thanks to all this and to a highly qualified team, Bottaro delivers orders within 72 hours in Europe and within 20 days in the American continent.
Production
Bottaro follows the entire production chain, choosing European wire rods of the highest quality and an environmentally friendly, ISO:9001-certified production process. Bottaro's desire to guarantee a very high level of attention to the concepts of eco-sustainability, circular economy and waste reduction at all stages of the production of its iron wire translates into constant control of every production process in its supply chain, from the drawing of the raw material to the packaging and transport of the final product.
Ethics and sustainability
In 2016 Bottaro drew up and adopted a Code of Ethics to guarantee its vision of ethical and sustainable business that places people and the environment at its heart.
Iron wire that is good for the environment, the expression of an entrepreneurial vision that embraces the values of responsibility, ethics, sustainability and internationalisation: this is Bottaro wire.
