The focus is on the drawing agent concentrates from the Multidraw series. The fact that sustainability and performance do not have to be in contradiction is another focus of the trade fair appearance of the traditional Eislingen company, which has been producing in a climate-neutral manner for years.

"Wire is the most important trade fair for the wire drawing industry in the world and always attracts numerous trade visitors from abroad, which is why we are pleased to be represented with a stand again, after all, a lot has happened here in the last two years," says Markus Mühleisen, Strategic Business Unit Manager at Zeller+Gmelin. He is referring to the constantly growing product range of cooling lubricants for wire production, which now includes more than six decades of experience in the wire drawing segment. The lubricant laboratories in Eislingen work closely with their customers to continually create innovative solutions for users. These now range from wire drawing media for copper wire rod, to copper and aluminium alloys, to steel, stainless steel and steel cord.

Durable even under extreme requirements
One of the high-performance wire drawing agents on display is, for example, "Multidraw CU MF T" for copper wire production. The drawing agent concentrate for medium and fine drawing is water-miscible and, according to Zeller+Gmelin, is not only suitable for bare copper, but also ideal for drawing tinned wires in medium and fine drawing. In addition, the product is characterized by improved lubricity with very low foam formation. The formula used also ensures excellent long-term stability of the emulsion and pH value.

Markus Mühleisen emphasizes: "With our long-lasting multidraw products, we can cover the entire range of lubricants for wire drawing. This allows our users to achieve maximum drawing speeds while their machines remain clean and almost wear-free. Our research and development department is continuously working on innovative solutions that reduce the burden on the environment and improve our customers' processes."

Climate-neutral and resource-saving
Zeller+Gmelin also puts the latter at the center of its trade fair appearance. "Sustainable concepts that concern responsibility towards our environment and the conscientious use of resources are central components of our corporate philosophy," emphasizes Markus Mühleisen. The traditional company, together with its subsidiary Südöl, has been relying on the recycling of industrial lubricants for years. Another project to conserve resources involves the reconditioning of used barrels and containers in a kind of recycling cycle. Reconditioned barrels not only conserve material resources, but also have a significantly lower carbon footprint than newly manufactured barrels.

With these and many other measures, the manufacturer has been working intensively on improving its CO2 footprint for years and, since January 2020, has been able to call itself a "climate-neutral location" as the first chemical company in Baden-Wuerttemberg. "We would also be pleased to talk to trade fair visitors about this, because green supply chains are becoming increasingly important, especially in our target markets."
