Automation, flexibility and genuine solutions for mesh production

At “wire 2026” in Düsseldorf, EVG will be focusing consistently on two topics that are decisive for competitiveness in modern mesh production: automation and flexibility.

As a technology leader for welded mesh products, EVG will demonstrate how fence and industrial mesh can be manufactured efficiently and to the highest quality standards – even when lot sizes are getting smaller, variants are increasing and changeover times are becoming a cost factor.

Visitors to the EVG booth can expect practical insights into modular system concepts and innovations that address the areas where many manufacturers are currently under the most pressure: reducing set-up times, avoiding scrap, stabilising processes – and remaining productive in the process.

Im-EcO: Modular welding system that redefines set-up times

The focus of the trade fair presentation is on the “Im-EcO” – a compact, highly flexible welding system for mesh up to 3,400mm wide and wire diameters from 3.0mm to 8.0mm. A particular highlight is the drastically reduced changeover processes. The system can be completely converted in just 90 minutes – for example, from an 8/6/8 double rod mesh with 50mm longitudinal wire spacing to a 358 security fence mesh with 3" longitudinal wire spacing.

Technologically, the machine is based on EVG “Ecoweld” medium-frequency direct current welding technology, which combines the shortest welding times with minimal heat input. The result: standard-compliant knot strength across the entire width, without phase boundaries – and thus consistently reproducible quality. In addition, the system enables the production of mats that were previously only possible with cross-wire tensioning and trimming, without waste and in the best quality.

The fully automated process is ensured by automatic longitudinal and transverse wire feeding and a servo-electric precision feed, which guarantees precise and stable production cycles. An integrated mat stacker delivers clean stacking quality – even with short mats. The concept is complemented by an intuitive industrial PC control system with tabular input and graphical visualisation. The “Wire up” platform makes production data available in real time – for monitoring, transparency and targeted optimisation during operation.

DRS-8-IM: Precise wire preparation as the basis for efficient production

Modern mesh production is only as good as its raw material – which means that wire preparation plays a key role. With the “DRS-8-IM”, EVG presents a high-performance wire straightening and cutting machine that processes wires from 3.0mm to 8.0mm in lengths from 500mm to 3,400mm. Thanks to minimal length tolerances and a speed of up to 180m/min, the system delivers exactly what makes welding processes stable and reproducible: precise, consistent wire quality as the perfect basis for the next production step.

Video presentation of the “ERM Eco” as part of “Inside EVG”

As part of the EVG trade fair programme for “wire 2026” 2026, visitors to the exhibition stand will gain an exclusive insight into “ERM Eco” – a highly flexible welding system with an integrated mesh bending machine for reinforcement meshes and cages. The system is consistently designed for minimum batch sizes and combines welding and bending into a seamless, continuous process.
