03/09/2026 – Message marking the 75th anniversary
Innovation connects – yesterday, today, and tomorrow
75 years serving a key industry: On behalf of the entire IWCEA, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the editorial team and the publishers of WIRE on this impressive milestone.
Your publication is not only a chronicler but also an active partner and driving force for the wire and cable industry.
When the magazine first saw the light of day 75 years ago, modern infrastructure was still in its infancy. Since then, the world has changed dramatically – and our industry along with it. Cables and wires are the invisible yet indispensable lifelines of our modern society. They transport energy, connect continents via data streams, and enable the mobility of tomorrow. Without the innovative strength of our companies, the wheels of digitalization and the energy transition would grind to a halt.
Throughout all these decades of change, your trade journal has been a constant presence. You have made complex technical developments accessible, analyzed markets, and given our industry a strong voice. For the association and its member companies, your magazine has been – and remains – an indispensable source of information and a valuable platform for professional exchange. You bring people, ideas, and markets together.
Today, the wire and cable industry faces historic transformation challenges. Decarbonization, a sustainable circular economy, and advancing automation present significant challenges. This makes a strong trade publication that accompanies these processes critically, competently, and constructively all the more important. We are confident that you will continue to ask the right questions and identify groundbreaking trends early on in the future.
We thank the entire team for their tireless dedication, journalistic excellence, and deep commitment to our industry. For the decades to come, we wish you continued success, a loyal readership, and always the right perspective on the issues that shape our shared future.
