Surface pre-treatment and finishing
For decades, Staku-Anlagenbau has been developing electroplating processes for the pre-treatment and refinement of metallic semi-finished products in the areas of wire, strip, tubes and profiles.
In the laboratory, the specialist staff is constantly working on improving existing processes and developing new methods for optimal problem solving. The implementation takes place in the design department and in the adjoining workshops, Staku builds complete production plants.
Electrolytic processes for cleaning and coating
The protected name and brand staple 'e-systems' comprises the electrolytic processes for cleaning and coating metal and non-metal surfaces “e-clean”, “e-copp”, “e-phos” and “e-galv”. These processes have been perfected over the years and ensure excellent product quality worldwide. When cleaning with e-clean, contaminating particles such as scale or stearates are literally blasted off the surface due to the strong gas formation in the lectrolytic process. The result is a qualified surface.
In addition to the short treatment time, the decisive advantage of electrolytic copper plating with “e-copp” is that there is no bath contamination due to increasing iron concentrations. This is the case with the traditional powerless process. The costs of bathroom disposal, whereby often unused copper is also disposed of, are thus eliminated. Likewise, the electrolytically deposited copper layer is more compact, homogeneous and less porous.
Copper-plated and non-copper-plated welding wires
Staku developed the "Dual Use Concept". This mainly refers to the production of copper-plated and non-copper-plated welding wires in the context of inline production. For example, by optionally switching the “e-copp” copper plating on or off, the e-clean high-purity wire surface can be produced bright or with a copper-plated surface. This means that the companies can save on the investment in a second wire drawing line.
The patented e-phos process is suitable for the production of parts made of cold heading wire, for spring wire products and for pulling steel wires. The very dense, finely crystalline zinc calcium phosphate layer creates a wire surface with excellent sliding properties, high compressive strength and very good rust protection. At e-phos, the electrolytic separation no longer produces any reaction sludge, which eliminates the need for recurring cleaning of the system and disposal of the sludge produced.
Lubricant system for wire drawing of stainless steel and titanium alloys
A further development of the “e-phos” process resulted in the introduction of “e-molyphos” in 2016. This is a lubricant system for wire drawing of stainless steel and titanium alloys. In this process, a matrix of a highly resistant solid film and other lubricating components is electrolytically applied from a bath, which significantly improves the conditions between the friction partners when drawing stainless steel and titanium alloys.
The processes of the “e-systems” product family have in common that, despite their high product quality, they require only a short treatment time, consume fewer chemicals and cause lower energy costs. Bathroom contamination is avoided. “e-systems” are environmentally friendly, they improve product quality and reduce production costs.
