This type of machine is used also for screening process with different sizes and combinations and is a reinforced step forward, incorporating some advanced technical improvements which allow to obtain a higher conductor quality level as well as a higher production capacity.

– Reduced wires contacts with the machine body, thus decreasing the frictions and avoiding wire tension variations.
– Braking systems on the bobbins allow to get a constant tension from full to empty bobbin and also between the different wires of each stranding cage. Minimum values have been reached allowing the use of smaller wire diameters.
– Optimised stranding cages structure allowing to increase maximum rotating speeds and maximize production capacity.
– Improved automatic bobbins’ loading systems thus giving a higher efficiency, getting lower machine stopping time.
– Use of specific electronic items allowing to know in real time/continuously the production status as well as the historical in order to repeat easily similar subsequent productions. Likewise, the line sensitive items status can be monitored preventively.
– Reliable Wifi electronic control avoiding communication through sliprings and corresponding possible failures.

The rigid strander is not only used for submarine cables, it is also helpful for overhead and underground cables, making it a versatile machinery.

Among others, thanks to these improvements the range of working wires in copper and aluminum is wider allowing to reach higher final conductor sections in a single pass, up to 127 wires.

The portfolio of products that Flymca normally supplies for the submarine cables production is usually complemented with planetary stranders for armouring processes. Flymca is proud of their armouring lines which are being constantly improved, as well as the rigid stranders, according to the specific features of sub-sea cables. Armouring lines are typically used to protect power, communications or umbilical cables with one or two external layers of galvanized steel wires. The steel wires can be round or flat section. Flymca’s armouring lines are prepared to work with both options.

– Auxiliary caterpillars to transfer the conductors to turntables or other positions in the factory
– Special devices for quality control
