Otto Bihler’s “GRM 80B” can produce bushes from 15mm to 40mm inner diameter and up to a maximum of 50mm in long. The machine speed varies subject to the type of bush. If the speed, for flanged bushes (collared bushes), is at 160min-1, it climbs to 220min-1 for cylindrical, straight bushes. The GRM 80B has a standardised and clearly structured tooling concept. It consists of the basic tooling, two sets of tool fixtures and the active parts. The latter are to be manufactured by the customer, for example Bihler blanks. To ensure extremely short tool changeover times the second set of tool fixtures can be pre-equipped for another bush type. The user just has to open the hydraulic quick-locks via switch, take out the tool fixtures, insert the second set of tool fixtures and fix it. It is just a matter of a few minutes.

The complete GRM 80B package consists of the basic machine, tool components and standard accessories: a mechanical gripper feed with hydraulic clamping (as option servo feeder RZV 2.1), the “BRA-II-75” strip straightener, a 100kN, 12mm stroke two-point eccentric press, two positively-controlled enlarged slide units with a nominal force of 50kN and 80mm stroke, a central mandrel with 60kN nominal force and 80mm stroke, a 100kN transverse press with 60mm stroke, a rotary table drive and user and personnel protection.

For high process safety the GRM 80B is equipped with Bihler’s “VC 1E” control system, which has been designed and provided with an ideal display to handle the machine in an intuitional fashion. Thus it becomes transparent and self-explanatory. The control system is housed in a stand-alone cabinet with a 15-inch-touch screen. Chief executive Mathias Bihler is convinced: „The Bushing machines series is complete”. With “RM 40B”, GRM 80B and “CC 1B” his company offered for all bushing types and dimensions the perfectly designed machine.
