All machines were built by NMC under Niehoff license for the Chinese market. The “MMH” drawing lines, for example, consist of components supplied by Niehoff´s headquarters in Germany and components manufactured by NMC. All components are assembled at NMC, where the test runs are conducted. The lines are only delivered to the customer after these test runs have been successfully completed. Then, NMC technicians are responsible for the commissioning.

Multiwire drawing: Energy-, material-, and cost-efficient

Some features of the “MMH 121+RM 201” multiwire drawing line on display are its high productivity and low wire break rate, thanks to the Niehoff design with cast gearboxes and high-precision helical gears. The “RM 201” resistance annealer uses field-proven 2/3 zone annealing, which can be selected with or without wire reheating. This results in optimal wire drying and economical energy use for bigger wire sizes. More importantly, the “RM” series annealers provide the best possible annealing performance and stability.

The wires drawn and annealed on this line have highly uniform properties and tight tolerances along their entire length. These wires can be processed into multiwire bundles with exceptional specifications. They are ideal for further processing into high-quality strands or braids.

Technical data „MMH 121“

max. production speed: 35m/s

wire inlet diameter: max. 2.00mm (Cu hard)

wire finished diameter 0.16mm ... 0.68mm

max. number of wires: 24

number of wire drafts 22

Stranding: High quality for challenging applications

The “D 402” type double twist bunching machine characterizes itself with high productivity and delivers high-quality products on perfectly filled spools. Its single-bow design, combined with the energy-saving Eco-Bow installed in the machine, ensures significant energy savings and, consequently, significant energy cost savings when compared to conventional bunching machines. Other features include an electric lay-length adjustment, which changes the lay-length without changing gears, and constant tension control of the strands from empty to full spool, which is essential for the bunching process of fine wires. Since the “D 402” produces strands with very tight tolerances, only the minimally required copper cross-section is generated. Due to adjustable, controlled wire tension, regardless of the spool filling, and the integrated optoelectronic NBAT (Niehoff Bunching Automatic Traverse) system, the spools are filled with a perfect winding pattern. Consequently, wire strands with a small cross-section can be payed off tangle-free, even at extremely high pay-off speeds.

Technical data: “D 402”

max. production speed: 200m/min

strand cross section*: 0.013mm² … 2.5mm²

lay length (steplessly variable): 1 … 75 mm

max. number of twists: 9,000twists/min

Pay-off systems for different applications:

Two pay-off types will be on display as standalone units: the “ARH 630” and the “ARD 630 D”.

The “ARH 630” is a tangential pay-off with a separate drive that can be combined with the “D 402” type double twist bunching machine on display to produce 7 x 0.08mm conductors.

The “ARD 630 D” is a double twist backtwist pay-off designed for backtwisting insulated wires in front of pair stranding machines, such as the “D 802” or “DSI 632”. This pay-off is equipped with two pay-off units and is designed for producing conductors with a cross-section of

0.254 mm² – 0.813 mm² for core cable,

0.13 mm² – 1.5 mm² for flexible cable,

with a max. cable diameter of 3 mm

Braiding: Precise and efficient

The “BMV 16” vertical lever-arm rotary braiding machine is equipped with 16 bobbin carriers and features several advantages, including infinitely variable electronic control of line speed and braiding pitch, as well as an automatic central lubrication system. Multiple monitoring systems enable unattended operation for extended periods without frequent operator intervention. The greatest benefit of Niehoff braiding technology is its specially designed, fine-tuned braiding bobbin carries, which provide high, consistent pay-off tension during production. This guarantees higher product quality, which is what customers want.

Aiming at the Automotive High Frequency Coaxial cable production, the displayed “BMV 16” is equipped with dancer control for the pay-off and take-up sides and a dancer-controlled longitudinal pay-off for the aluminum foil.

“BMV” braiders made by the Niehoff headquarters in Germany can be equipped with the following three patented systems that provide additional benefits:

1) A “BMV 16” model´s braiding speed can automatically accelerate from 175rpm to a maximum of 200rpm, resulting in an increase in braiding performance of up to 10%. At the same time, the frequency of lubrication intervals is reduced. Thus, less lubricant is used, resulting in less oil contamination on the braids.

2) With Niehoff’s Wire Tension Control System, all braiding wires – from full to empty braiding bobbins – can be applied to the product to be braided under uniform tension. The result is perfect shielding.

3) Niehoff’s Coverage Control System ensures a constant braiding coverage ratio at the set value. Since only the absolutely necessary amount of braiding wire is applied, up to 10% of braiding material can be saved.

Two “BMV 16” braiders will be on display: One is equipped with an integrated “BAS 800” take-up and pay-off unit and will be showcased with wires. The other one is combined with external “AH 800+WH 800” pay-off and take-up systems, which are placed beside the machine. Both types of pay-off and take-up systems are designed for cable spools with a flange diameter of 800mm.

Like all “BMV” braider models, the “BMV 16” braiders are designed to process bare or plated round or flat wires made of copper, aluminum, or stainless steel, as well as artificial yarns and fibers. “BMV” braiders can manufacture cable screenings, hollow braids, stranded braids, medical catheters, sanitary hoses, textile braids, and steel wire braids with different braid patterns.
