Compared to conventional braiding machines, this vertical lever-arm rotary braider with 16 bobbin carriers has several patented features, which enable the users to achieve significant cost savings.

Increased output and less lubricant contamination
The “BMV 16” can automatically accelerate the bobbin speed from 175rpm to a maximum value of 200rpm. This allows the braiding performance to increase by 10%. Simultaneously, the frequency of the lubrication intervals is reduced dependent on the current temperature status of the slideway. Consequently, less lubricant is used and less oil contamination occurs on the braids.

Faultless shielding with constant braiding coverage ratio
As a further feature, Niehoff's “WTC” (Wire Tension Control) system ensures that all braiding wires are applied to the product to be braided under uniform tension from full to empty bobbin. The result is a faultless shielding, which is needed for more and more applications.

The braider additionally keeps the braiding coverage ratio of the product to be braided constant at the set value. Since only the absolutely necessary amount of braiding wire is applied, up to 10% material can be saved. The braiding coverage can be documented and made available to the customer.

Unattended operation and monitoring by the “myNiehoff” web app
Multiple monitoring systems enable unattended operation over longer periods of time and without frequent operator intervention. With the help of the “myNiehoff” web app, users can monitor machine and process data online. The braiding parameters can be documented, allowing users of a “BMV 16” to provide their customers with written proof of top quality.

Applications
The “BMV 16” is designed for processing of bare or plated round or flat wires made of copper, aluminum or stainless steel with a cross section of 0.02mm² to 0.56mm² (for Cu soft) as well as artificial yarn and fibers.
