Traditionally rolling mills are equipped with non-destructive testing systems for surface quality inspection and an additional system for geometry control. This requires a lot of space in the production line and different service and maintenance tasks to be carried out at different intervals. This is not efficient in terms of time and resource management and alternative systems need to be developed.

Here is where “Eddy Eyes” system from Isend can revolutionize the field. “Eddy Eyes” is currently being used in multiple rolling mills for surface quality inspection. The system combines the power of “Eddy Current” together with computer vision and artificial intelligence to detect surface defects in real time while taking high-definition pictures and automatically classifying the defects. And now thanks to the high-speed cameras in the vision module and the artificial intelligence algorithms, “Eddy Eyes Pro”system can also work as a profile gauge providing the same level of accuracy as traditional laser gauges.
