01/09/2026 – 75 years WIRE (1951-2026)

The WIRE anniversary issue has arrived

The first issue of WIRE was published in 1951 by Prost+Meiner Verlag in Coburg. This marked the beginning of a tradition that continues to this day under the Meisenbach Verlag publishing house in Bamberg.

Together with our readers and business partners, we are celebrating 75 years of WIRE (1951–2026). Join us in celebrating.

We see ourselves as a “companion to the industry”, acting as a link between machine manufacturers, users, suppliers and service providers. Our relationship with universities and research institutes goes back just as far.

Through the magazine, the spring, wire and cable industry has a voice abroad. Under the motto “That was tomorrow”, companies in this anniversary issue report on ideas that were rejected at the time but are now gaining relevance once again.

This September issue marks 75 years of WIRE, reflecting on decades of change while spotlighting anniversary stories across the supply chain.

We are also delighted by the many congratulatory messages we have received from associations and companies.

Thank you for your loyalty
On behalf of the whole team at WIRE – our editorial staff, media consultants, advertising administrators, sales team, and graphic designers – I would like to thank all our readers, contributors, and advertisers for the trust you have placed in us over the years and for your valued support as we continue along our shared path. I would like to wish us all every success and hope that our fruitful collaboration will continue long into the future.

You can be sure that WIRE will remain true to this path in the years to come – regardless of which channel you use, whether print, website, or social media.
