01/05/2021 – Greetings / 70 years WIRE (1951-2021)

News lives on in time

Congratulations to WIRE magazine on its 70th anniversary. In 70 years, the wire and spring industry and technologies have developed enormously. WIRE magazine has succeeded in following the development and has been a valuable source of information for companies in our industry.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the importance of the magazine in news coverage of technological developments has been further emphasized. Machine and equipment manufacturers, material suppliers and service providers reach their customers effectively with their news. The magazine even partly replaces trade fairs and customer / supplier meetings cancelled by the pandemic.

WIRE magazine news lives on in time. Research articles, on the other hand, retain their relevance for a long time and, as a result, journals are often preserved and re-read over and over again. In my own company, Meconet Oy, which turned 80 this year, the magazine circulates through many readers to the archive, where it is picked up for reading even after months.

The trend-like transition of the media to the network will also reach a younger readership, but I believe that the print version still has its own group of supporters in our industry. On behalf of the European Spring Federation (ESF), I thank WIRE magazine and Meisenbach GmbH for an excellent magazine and pleasant cooperation and wish success for the next 70 years.
