Jakob Müller Holding AG acquires Buss AG
The industrial company Jakob Müller Holding AG (JMH) is expanding its technology portfolio and acquiring Buss AG. This step strengthens JMH's “Process Solutions” division and significantly expands its position in the key area of high-viscosity process engineering.
In the end of January, the Swiss industrial company Jakob Müller Holding AG, based in Frick (Aargau), acquired 100% of the shares in Buss AG, based in Pratteln (Basel). This acquisition will enable JMH to expand its ‘Process Solutions’ division and secure a leading position in the field of continuous high-viscosity process engineering.
Stephan Bühler, owner of JMH: “In the future, we will be able to offer even more and even more efficient solutions in the field of process engineering and plant construction. This includes processes in the areas of kneading, mixing, compounding and cooling.”
Buss AG will be integrated into the corporate structure of Jakob Müller Holding AG through the acquisition, but will continue to operate independently. “Buss AG already has a great deal in common with its new corporate environment. Our technologies are highly complementary and our process and mechanical engineering expertise is ideally suited to each other. Together with JMH, Buss AG will be able to continue its growth course and offer our customers even more added value in the future,” says Philip Nising, CEO of Buss AG. He adds that JMH, like Buss AG, is a long-established company with Swiss roots and the same values, prioritising quality and innovation.
As a result of the acquisition of Buss AG, the Process Solutions division will in future comprise three companies: List Technology AG, BBA INNOVA AG and Buss AG. Textile Solutions, JMH's second division, consisting of the Jakob Müller Group and Benninger AG, will remain in its current structure.
JMH is the industry's technological benchmark for modern process technology in a range of applications. The three companies in the JMH ‘Process Solutions’ division offer a wide range of solutions and complement each other without competing.
With Buss AG, the division now has not only devolatilisation, reaction and cooling technology but also in-depth expertise in the compounding of highly viscous materials. The range of process engineering solutions extends from fine vacuum to overpressure technology, processing temperatures from the freezing range to over 400 °C, and throughputs from a few grams to over 65 tonnes per hour. The two companies will benefit greatly from working together in the future on the development and marketing of their systems and components.
