Ali Shehab, alongside his devoted wife Amanda, established Cimteq in 1998 to provide business software implementation and process control consultancy to the wire and cable manufacturing industry. Using his extensive experience and passion for improving productivity and streamlining the manufacturing process, Ali ploughed his unrivalled industry knowledge and passions into developing “Cable Builder Enterprise”, “Cable Builder Go” and “Cable MES”.

In 2017, a £2.5 million investment from private equity investment company, Foresight Group LLP, marked a new chapter in the company’s history as it embarked on an ambitious programme of growth. Following the investment, Cimteq’s growth strategy accelerated at speed, seeing the appointment of a highly skilled executive team who progressed the succession plan by taking over the operational control of the business. Relinquishing day to day operational responsibilities allowed Ali to move up into the role of President, a role that enabled him to use his knowledge and experience within the industry with the same enthusiasm and devotion he had displayed over the years.

The growth strategy at Cimteq continues with impressive momentum, seeing revenue double and staff numbers treble driven by the expansion of the sales team, which ensures Cimteq has an on the ground presence across all regions of the world.

Mike Braddock, CEO at Cimteq said: “Ali was a true gentleman, and it has been a pleasure to work alongside him in steering Cimteq forward and to position us as leaders in our field. His passion and dedication were steadfast to the very end, and it is with the greatest respect for his memory that we continue to drive Cimteq forward and build on his legacy. A huge hole has been left not only within our team but also within the industry. Ali was one of a kind, and the tributes that have poured in have brought much comfort to us all. On behalf of Amanda, we would like to thank everyone who has sent messages of condolences and shared their wonderful memories of working with Ali.”

Ali was a keen sailor and had big plans to sail around the world in his yacht, RainSong. In loving memory a JustGiving page has been set up to raise funds for RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) a cause close to Ali’s heart. Visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/a-shehab to donate.
