This year, the trade journal WIRE is celebrating 75 years of publication. The first issue of WIRE appeared in 1951, published by Prost+Meiner Verlag in Coburg. This marked the beginning of a tradition that continues to this day under the Meisenbach Verlag publishing house in Bamberg.

We see ourselves as a “companion to the industry” – acting as a link between machine manufacturers, users, suppliers, and service providers. Our close ties with universities and research institutes go back just as far.

Industry associations, companies, research institutes, and trade fair organizers with links to WIRE share their views on the role and purpose of the trade journal. Readers and business partners have written to us about what has connected them with WIRE over the course of these more than seven decades.
