Messe Düsseldorf cancels “wire” and “Tube” 2020

Originally, the fair was scheduled to run from 30 March to 3 April but was postponed until 7 to 11 December 2020. The event has now been cancelled due to the upsurge in the incidence of coronavirus.  The organiser is following the advice of the German Government’s crisis committee.  Other factors include continuing uncertainty among exhibitors and visitors as well as the complex travel situation, particularly for international attendees.  As the mouthpiece of the industry, we, at WIRE, will continue to keep you informed online.

Turning our attention to this November issue, scientists and industry players are currently exploring how artificial intelligence could benefit the sector. Elsewhere, rising energy costs are compelling companies to use the heat generated by continuous annealing furnaces as efficiently as possible. A furnace maker presents its own concept. To pave the way for high-speed data transmission even on trains, miles of cables are being laid in train carriages. Hybrid cable designs are making it possible to transfer not only data but also electricity and control signals. Electromobility is the topic of the first “Reutlinger E-Mobility Days” at Wafios in early November. Presenting its own hairpin bending technology, the company has also invited several other exhibitors.
