70 years WIRE (1951-2021) jubilee issue
This issue is devoted to our 70th anniversary. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic has prevented us from celebrating this momentous occasion. However, the industry associations closely connected to WIRE have spared some time to share their views on the magazine’s lasting contribution to the sector. Over the decades, WIRE has been wholly and steadfastly committed to its role as a vital link between the world of research, machine manufacturers and users in the spring, wire and cable industry.
Ever true to our mission, we turn our focus in this issue to innovations in the production and processing of wire – including articles on drawing, straightening, bending and joining. We shed light on upcoming trade fairs and in-house events which, due to the pandemic, are taking place either virtually or in a hybrid format. Developments in the field of the “Smart Factory” are highlighted in examples from the cable industry. All this is rounded off with portraits of companies and entrepreneurs who take a fascinating look at the past, present and future of their firms.
