About the rotor straightening system with hyperbolic rollers integrated in the “MELC” series of straightening machines:
These rollers execute the two fundamental operations of straightening and feeding, simultaneously. This is achieved by positioning the rollers at an angle to the wire axis and rotating around it, thereby at the same time accomplishing feeding and straightening.

The placement of the rollers at an angle to the wire axis results in line contact with the wire surface and not in point contact as in conventional rotors with dies. Also, when the rotor is spinning and the rollers are feeding the wire through, there is no sliding friction, but only rolling friction, and thus the wire surface is not damaged.

Furthermore, the “MELC” series of straightening machines are offer in two different configurations, a single line refer to as “MELC Monoline” and the “MELC Polyline” where up to three different straightening rotors can be combined in one machine offering increased processing capabilities, as up to three different diameters can be processed.

All “MELC” straightening machines are offered with a mechanical stop system, type “MS”, where a length accuracy of ±0.1mm is achieved. Furthermore, a flying cutting unit with a sophisticated design ensures a clean, burr-free, round cutting surface, providing uninterrupted operation without also damaging the material.

The unmatched advantages of the “MELC” straightening machines are proven to be the only solution even in the most demanding wire straightening applications. As in the case of the featured “MELC Poly 4-12 x3 MS”, which is a three line multi-line straightening machine, processing wire diameters from 4mm up to 12mm. This machine is capable of cutting very small lengths –without compromising in straightening and length accuracy- making it the ideal working partner in applications such as bolt and treaded rod cutting, adding the efficiency of the simultaneous operation of the independent straightening lines to the exceptional straightening characteristics.
