Multi-wire drawing as a standard in copper wire production

In today's copper wire production, the use of multi-wire drawing machines in fine wire drawing is indispensable. At speeds of over 30 meters per second, up to 42 wires are simultaneously reduced from a diameter of 1.8mm to as small as 0.05mm.

Any disruption, let alone a wire break, leads to significant costs and time losses in the production process. Therefore, choosing the right drawing emulsion is crucial to ensure a smooth production process and maintain competitiveness.

A new benchmark in drawing lubrication
With “BECHEM Unopol FX 200”, Bechem introduces a new semi-synthetic, water-miscible drawing lubricant. This product is specifically designed for drawing bare and tinned copper wires on multi-wire drawing machines down to final diameters of 0.10mm. The high lubricating performance and excellent surface quality of the product have already convinced wire producers worldwide. Numerous other companies are ready to test “BECHEM Unopol FX 200”.

“BECHEM Unopol FX 200” impresses with its special formulation, which enables high performance and outstanding surface qualities. Particularly noteworthy is the high pH stability, which ensures consistent performance over a long period and minimizes the need for frequent adjustments of the emulsion.

Additionally, the lubricant offers very good cleaning properties with low foaming tendency, which improves the cleanliness of machines and tools, reduces downtime, and increases production efficiency. The good rinsing and residue behavior facilitates the removal of residues and ensures a consistently high quality of the produced wires.

Another advantage of “BECHEM Unopol FX 200” is the long emulsion life, which reduces the frequency of emulsion changes and thus lowers operating costs. Moreover, the lubricant allows high drawing speeds, enabling faster production without compromising wire quality, leading to higher productivity. The excellent surface qualities of the final product improve the overall quality of the wires. Finally, the environmentally friendly formulation of “BECHEM Unopol FX 200” is another plus, as it contains no harmful substances, making it safer for workers and less harmful to the environment.

About the company
The Carl Bechem GmbH is the oldest German manufacturer of industrial lubricants and today one of the leading producers of high-quality specialty lubricants and metalworking fluids. For decades, the company has been a global market leader in the field of non-ferrous wire drawing. The company continuously takes on the challenge of extending the life of drawing dies and emulsions while keeping machines clean. These are key factors for cost reduction and increased efficiency. Intensive research and development work ensures the highest quality and productivity in modern copper wire drawing. A key part of their corporate philosophy is close contact with customers, especially when implementing new products. This includes intensive preliminary discussions to understand the specific conditions at the customer's site and develop tailored solutions. The "after-sales service" is another important aspect, as water-miscible products can change over their lifecycle.
