With this already being the fourth “RSB” for Jiyuan, the project underlines the close and trusted relationship between the two companies. At the same time, it marks the 50th “RSB” to be integrated in China, illustrating the strategic relevance of Kocks’ 3-roll technology in SBQ mills.

The new Kocks “RSB 500++/4” will be integrated as the finishing block in a new big bar mill line, enabling Jiyuan to roll large bar sizes from 50.00mm to 160.00mm with highest dimensional accuracy, tight tolerances, and operational reliability. This second “RSB 500++/4” for the Chinese steel producer represents a strategic move to further strengthen the company’s position. The project will increase flexibility in meeting demanding customer requirements and support Jiyuan’s ambition to lead the Chinese market for large-size SBQ products.

In addition to the “RSB 500++/4”, the scope of supply includes the remote control for automatic stand and guide adjustments and “Bamicon Octopus” as workflow-oriented solution for roll shop operations. Seamlessly connected to the “RSB” and higher-level systems, it forms a solution to contribute to consistent setup processes, exact control of rolling results, and highest flexibility across the complete size range.

With the order placement, the project has entered the execution phase. Kocks will support Jiyuan as a technology partner with proven equipment, process expertise, and service competence through commissioning, which is scheduled for mid-2027.
