Startup is expected in the first half of 2026. With the comprehensive scope of mill and casting equipment, along with high-performance machines, this project highlights Primetals Technologies’ strengths as a full-liner for long product production. The billet caster will be supplied by Concast India Private Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Primetals Technologies. It will produce 100mm- to 200mm-square sections. Key mechanical scope also encompasses a reliable dummy bar system, an individual-type ladle sequencing car handling ladles with a capacity up to 50 tons of liquid steel, and a diagonal up-cut type hydraulic hot billet shear. Featuring a high-speed cutting mechanism, the billet shear ensures faster processing of billets while minimizing waste and operational costs.

The new single strand rebar outlet will roll 350,000t of 8mm to 40mm rebar per year at a speed of 45m/s making it one of the fastest rebar rolling mills in the world. A strong portfolio of Tier 1 references, as well as presenting the most cost-effective solution were the two main factors which contributed to Jeevaka’s choice of mill supplier. The scope of supply includes an 8-stand eDrive Morgan No-Twist Mill, pre-no-twist mill shear, divide shear, Morgan Water Box with trough, delivery pipes, two bar-braking pinch rolls, and a rotary entry system – all of which incorporating Level 1 automation for the full mill.

The new equipment will significantly enhance Jeevaka’s production capabilities and enable expansion into new markets across India. The Morgan No-Twist Mill incorporates eDrive technology, one of Primetals Technologies’ latest innovations. The eDrive system utilizes innovations in electrical drives and motor technologies to combine with the mechanical components of the Morgan No-Twist Mill. Utilizing individually driven stands, eDrive provides infinite processing flexibility per stand, reducing both capital and operational expenditures for bar, rebar, and wire rod mills.

The Morgan Water Box provides efficient, in-line product temperature control. The included Long Rolling Enhanced Temperature Control System provides precise monitoring and control of stock temperature, ensuring desired properties throughout the rolling process.

Completed in combination with Kathuria Roll Mill, an Indian market leader in rolling mill and metal processing solutions, this partnership combines the innovative technology with Kathuria’s cost-effective solutions to promote Jeevaka’s push toward the higher quality product market.
