Böllinghaus Steel cancels participation in “wire” and “Tube” 2020

Böllinghaus Steel GmbH will not be exhibiting at „wire” and “Tube” in Dusseldorf, the world's leading trade fair for the wire and cable industry, in December 2020. The company made this decision in view of the currently unpredictable further developments in the corona pandemic.

"We regret having to cancel our participation in this year's “wire” and “Tube”, but the general development and the situation in December are uncertain and not foreseeable. After careful consideration, the cancellation gives all participants planning security. Protection of the health of employees, customers and business partners is our top priority and is very important to us. Of course, the cancellation is not easy for us, as wire and Tube has been a central leading trade fair for decades," explains Nina Härtel, Managing Director of Böllinghaus Steel GmbH.

The joint stand held with Outokumpu Long Products and the trade fair presence on this scale involve considerable effort and require time-consuming preparation. As a result, Böllinghaus Steel and Outokumpu, both renowned exhibitors at the fair, will not be represented in Dusseldorf.

"For us as an internationally positioned company, personal exchange with customers and business partners from all over the world is one of the most important reasons for participating in the trade fair. At present, it cannot be reliably predicted that a visit to the trade fair will be completely safe for our employees and market participants in terms of health. Moreover, in the current situation, we consider personal exchange in particular to be at risk in view of possible travel restrictions. A wire and Tube with distance regulations, strict hygiene regulations and necessary safety measures does not correspond to the character of the fair and prevents the usual fair experience. We offer a modern and secure communication experience on various digital channels and make Böllinghaus Steel a tangible experience through our own digital channels. We are currently focusing more and more on digital platforms and offer our customers the option of holding virtual meetings," Nina Härtel continues.

In this context, the Managing Director points out that Böllinghaus Steel has been able to guarantee unrestricted production operations thanks to extensive safety and hygiene measures in recent months, and the company does not want to jeopardize the associated short-term delivery capability and reliability.
